The Holy Spirit Prayer Center
is a public charity that directly benefits the poor and distressed,
throughout the world, especially children, who are; living in
a rural area, living in a metropolitan area, living in a natural
disaster area, or living in a war torn area.
Denise Calabrese (Foundress),
President & CEO of the Holy Spirit Prayer Center is a Liturgical
Minister and certified Master Catechist of Faith Education. Denise
concurrently holds the office of Media Apostolate, which is answering
the call of Saint John Paul II for a New Evangelization. It focuses
on St. John Paul II's, Christifideles Laici and Vatican II's,
decree on the Apostolate of the Laity.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
(USCCB) declared that New Evangelization calls each of
us to deepen our faith, believe in the Gospel message and go
forth to proclaim the Gospel. The focus of the New Evangelization
calls all Catholics to be evangelized and then go forth to evangelize.
In a special way, the New Evangelization is focused on 're-proposing'
the Gospel to those who have experienced a crisis of faith. Pope
Benedict XVI called for the re-proposing of the Gospel 'to those
regions awaiting the first evangelization and to those regions
where the roots of Christianity are deep but who have experienced
a serious crisis of faith due to secularization.' The New Evangelization
invites each Catholic to renew their relationship with Jesus
Christ and his Church."
The USCCB states, Evangelization always
includes loving our neighbor and working to uphold his or her
dignity. Echoing the Gospels, Pope Benedict XVI writes in Deus
Caritas Est (God is Love), Love of God and love of neighbor have
become one; in the least of the brethren we find Jesus himself,
and in Jesus we find God (no. 15).
